ROSARY ON THE BEACH AT JERRY CHUA’S

FRIDAY, JUNE 4th,      7:30 PM

2501 S. OCEAN BLVD, BOCA RATON

(I-95 to Palmetto Park Road, east to A1A, then right (south) past Camino Real a few more blocks,

the Boca Capri complex is on the west side of A1A)

Come join the group for prayer and fellowship on the first Friday of every month at the beach.  Bring your beach chair, mat, or blanket to be comfortable.  You may want to think about bringing a light jacket even if it seems to be a nice night.  The breeze off of the ocean will sometimes make the beach cooler.  We’ll have extra rosaries so don’t let that be a problem.  If it looks like rain, there’s a guest area in the Boca Capri complex that we’ll use instead of going to the beach.  There are five parking spaces along A1A next to the Boca Capri sign for the early arrivers, the rest can park around the corner diagonally on the grass by Osceola Drive.  The Boca Capri complex is located at the corner of A1A and Osceola Drive.  We’ll meet in front of Boca Capri and walk to the beach together.  For a group that’s built around spiritual events, come enjoy a spiritual evening on the beach among friends.

PLANNING MEETING AT ST. JOAN OF ARC

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2nd      7:00 PM

370 SW 3rd STREET, BOCA RATON

(I95 to Palmetto Park Road, east to SW 4th Avenue, turn right (south) and go 3 blocks to SW 3rd Street.

Turn left and the church parking lot will be on the right side.)

Our next planning meeting will again be at St Joan of Arc parish Conference Room D, located on the second floor of the school building next to Mercy Center.  We’d like to make it more of a social event and hopefully stimulate the flow of ideas.  The meeting starts at 7, but don’t feel bad if you have to come in late.  This is your chance to get a jump on the upcoming events and provide any inputs that would help us make the events more inviting to all.  If you do have an event in mind, bring as much information as you can about it. Never been to a planning meeting or haven’t been to one in a while?  Why not come out and see what’s going on as we try to have some fun while getting the events planned for the upcoming month!  If you have questions, don’t hesitate to call Sal at 561-731-4232.  Hope to see you there!!

Grab a bite to eat, have a drink, and say hello to Mary Fetyko at Brewzzi’s in Boca Raton.  As one of our more active members of the group in years past, Mary will be back in town visiting over the long holiday weekend.  For more information, call Mary Payne at 561-251-1724.

MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC & SPORTING EVENTS AT POMPANO PARK

MONDAY, MAY 31st   1:00 PM

900 NE 18th AVENUE, POMPANO BEACH

(I-95 to Atlantic Blvd, then east to NE 18th Ave.  Turn left,

then drive a couple of blocks straight into the park.  The city has been recently re-doing the entrance, so if it is still under construction, just go east (right) about 100 feet through the parking lot and come back around.)

Click <Here>  for map of park and directions.

What would Memorial Day be without a picnic!  The Boca Raton Catholic Young Professionals are hosting a Memorial Day picnic in Pompano Beach and hope that there will be a little something for everyone to enjoy.  Hopefully the trip from Dade county and northern Palm Beach county won’t be too long for our friends in those areas!  We have rented out the South Pavilion at the park, so look for us close to the main parking lot next to the tennis courts.  Food and beverages will be provided, but we will be asking a $5.00 charge to cover expenses and help fund future events.  If you’d like to bring a dish to share (no drinks, please, we should have plenty) we’ll waive the $5 charge.  Just let the people collecting the money know what you’ve brought.  Once everyone has stuffed themselves with food and drink, it will be time to let the games begin!  We intend to have contests in basketball, softball, volleyball, and tug-of-war, so bring your necessary sports equipment, lawn chairs, sun screen, and hats.  Fans are needed to cheer on all the teams, so feel free to do as much or as little as you’d like.  For more information, contact me, Tony Leeman, at 561-347-2490 or tleeman@bellsouth.net.

VOLLEYBALL AT POMPANO CITY PARK

EVERY MONDAY     7:00 PM

900 NE 18th AVENUE, POMPANO BEACH

(I-95, east on Atlantic Blvd to NE 18th Ave, turn left,

then drive a couple of blocks straight into the park)

Shake those Monday blues and join in on the fun as we “battle” each other in friendly games of volleyball.  Bring your lawn chairs to socialize, there’s always time to take a break.  Park in the lot after the tennis courts and look for the two sand volleyball courts bordering Federal Highway.  The locals like to play “2 on 2”, we’ll be the group playing with 6 people to a team.  Come join the fun!

E-Mail Me Your Ideas

 tleeman@bellsouth.net

We are encouraging everyone to be creative in developing ideas for future group events.  Many of you have been active in other groups and could share those positive experiences with all of us.  The more involvement we receive, the greater the number of events we can plan.  To make those suggestions a reality rather than a possibility, we ask that you volunteer to host the event or find someone who would be willing to host the event for you.   Let us know what YOU would like to do!

As people come and go, their interest in the group may also come and go.  To limit the number of unwanted e-mails you already receive, please let me know if you ever desire to be removed from our list.  You are always welcome back at any time.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name,

I am there in the midst of them.
